pets

the kid: hey, daddy. do you want to get a pet?
the hubby: we have fish. fish are pets.
the kid: we can get another pet.
the hubby: what kind of pet?
the kid: certainly not a cat. it would try to eat the fish, and they might break the fish tank. and that would not be good.

so now they are looking through a pet store catalog and discussing each of the options. oh the joy...
