the kid: mommy, how many days of Christmas are there?
me: um, there are 11 more days 'til Christmas.
the kid: how many days OF Christmas, not how many days 'TIL Christmas. there are 12 days of Christmas.
me: oh. well, if you knew that, why did you ask me?
the kid: I was just seeing if you know that. but you didn't. but now you do because I told you. so I'm glad I asked. aren't you glad I asked?
me: *sigh* yes, thanks for asking.
the kid: you're welcome.
