sneaky mommy
the kid woke up congested and had a headache but didn't want to take medicine... so I put some in his juice without him knowing. about 30 minutes later...
the kid: mommy, did you put medicine in my red juice?
me: why do you ask?
the kid: 'cause my head feels better. so I know you put some medicine in there.
me: yes, I did. I sneaked it in there because I knew it would make you feel better.
the kid: thank you for being sneaky, mommy.

gratefulness
we allowed the kid to open ONE gift tonight, and he just happened to choose a game that we can play as a family. after a few exciting rounds of "Zingo!", he gave both of us a hug and said, "thank you for my game. it was a very nice thing to get for me, and I love it."
I do believe this is the year of gratefulness, and I LOVE it!!!
