the kid: mommy, I don't want to go to preschool today.
me: but if you don't go, you won't see your friends.
the kid: that's okay. I just want to play at Miss Kym's house.
my sister: what about your girlfriend?
me: you have a girlfriend?
the kid: yeah. Kailey. she's cute.
me: if you don't go to preschool, you won't get to see Kailey.
the kid: well, I suppose I can go for a little bit.
