I have a boo-boo

the kid just came up to me and said, "mommy, I have a boo-boo on my butt. I need you to kiss it." he settled for me kissing my hand and patting his bottom.

the kid's new job

the hubby gave the kid a new job - making sure there is toilet paper on the roll at all times. now if someone has to use the restroom, he insists that he must go in first to inspect the roll... then proudly announces "you can wipe your butt" and leaves the room.

all better

the kid: mommy, I don't need to take my medicine any more. I'm all better.

me: the doctor said you have to take your medicine even after you feel better.

the kid: that's not fair. silly doctor.

no fits, mommy

me: I don't want to go to work today.

the kid: mommy, you GOT to go to work today.

me: why?

the kid: 'cause you GOT to.

me: why? 

the kid: no fits, mommy. you're a big girl. you can do it.

thanks for rescuing me

after waking up from a bad dream this morning, the kid climbed in my lap, snuggled in, and said, "I love you, mommy. thank you for rescuing me."

it's yummy!

the kid heard my tummy growling this morning, went to the kitchen, and brought back his favorite - a bag of Cheetos puffs. 

here mommy, I got you something to eat. try it. it's yummy!

dear God...

the kid said the "bye bye prayer" when I left for work this morning.... 

dear God, bless this food. and our family. in Jesus name. he saves the day. AaaaaaaaMEN!

me: you're cute

the kid: yes, I am cute

... and then he poked my cheek and said, "doink!"

morning snuggles

woke up this morning to the kid climbing in the bed, kissing me on the nose, saying "I love you very much", and then snuggling in next to me. what a great way to start the day!

I love you very much

there's nothing better than your three year old holding your face in his hands, kissing both cheeks, and saying, "Mommy, I love you very much."

iron chef vs. elmo

watching "Iron Chef" while the kid plays with his "Rock 'n Roll Elmo" is quite entertaining. "I would describe my cooking style as 'Elmo rocks the house!'"

why wait?

the kid has informed me that he's not waiting until his birthday on Wednesday to be three... he IS three because his cousin's birthday party was yesterday.

jingle bells

the kid is singing "Jingle Bells"... does this mean Christmas is coming?

that's not chicken

my almost-3 year old has informed me that it's not chicken if it's not in the form of a mcnugget and accompanied by fries.

get outta dat bed!

woke up this morning to the sound of my son saying, "daddy, time to get up. get outta dat bed mister!... shhhh... let mommy sleep." 

I love this kid!

I did it

the kid: look, mommy! I did it!

he's so proud that he put his underwear on all by himself. I didn't have the heart to tell him it's on backwards.

best friend EVER

the kid just said "mommy, you're my best friend EVER!", planted a kiss on my cheek, and then gave me a huge hug. that's what it's all about. *sigh*

time out!

gotta love the mind of an almost-three year old. the kid just put his hand in time-out... part of a game he's playing.
